Returns

We offer a 30-day return period from the date of delivery. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, unfortunately we cannot offer a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must:

• Be unused and in the same condition as received;
• Be returned in its original packaging;
• Include any accessories, instructions, or components supplied with the item;
• Be suitable for resale.

The buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for the return postage unless the item is faulty, damaged on arrival, or supplied incorrectly.

We recommend using a tracked delivery service for all returns. HD Chemicals LTD cannot be held responsible for returns lost or damaged during transit.

Consumer Right to Cancel (14-Day Cooling-Off Period)

If you are purchasing as a consumer, you have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving a reason, subject to the exceptions listed below.

To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us by email at contact@hdchemicals.co.uk within 14 days of receiving your order. You must then return the goods to us within 14 days of informing us of your decision to cancel.

Returned goods must:

• Be unused and in a condition suitable for resale;
• Be returned with all original packaging, accessories, and documentation where reasonably possible;
• Be adequately packaged to prevent damage during transit.

Unless the goods are faulty, damaged, or supplied incorrectly, you will be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.

We will issue a refund within 14 days of receiving the returned goods, or within 14 days of receiving evidence that the goods have been returned, whichever occurs first.

Refunds will be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless otherwise agreed.

Exceptions to the Right to Cancel

The right to cancel does not apply to:

• Goods made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised;
• Goods which are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly;
• Sealed goods which are not suitable for return for health protection, safety, quality control, or hygiene reasons once unsealed;
• Chemical products, reagents, powders, liquids, and similar products that have been opened, used, repackaged, contaminated, mixed, diluted, or otherwise altered after delivery;
• Any goods where the sealed packaging has been opened and the product cannot be safely resold.

Where goods are returned under the cooling-off period but have been handled beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and function, HD Chemicals LTD reserves the right to make a deduction from the refund to reflect any loss in value.

Chemical Products and Safety

Due to safety, quality control, regulatory and traceability requirements, chemical products, powders, liquids, laboratory reagents, fertilisers, cleaning chemicals, water treatment products, and other consumable products cannot be returned once opened, used, partially used, contaminated, repackaged, or removed from their original sealed packaging unless:

• The item is faulty;
• The item was damaged during transit;
• The incorrect item was supplied; or
• The return is otherwise required by applicable law.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

Refused Deliveries and Returned Parcels

If a parcel is refused by the recipient, not collected from a collection point, returned due to an incorrect or incomplete address supplied by the customer, or returned because delivery could not be completed after the carrier's delivery attempts, any charges incurred by HD Chemicals LTD may be deducted from any refund due.

These charges may include:

• Return-to-sender charges;
• Additional carrier handling charges;
• Redirection fees;
• Storage fees;
• Administrative costs incurred in processing the return;
• Other costs imposed by the delivery carrier.

Original shipping charges are non-refundable once an order has been dispatched.

Refunds relating to refused or undeliverable parcels will only be processed once the parcel has been returned to and inspected by HD Chemicals LTD.

Where permitted by applicable law, any actual carrier return charges may be deducted from the refund amount.

Incorrect Address Information

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all delivery details provided at checkout are accurate and complete.

Where a parcel is returned because an incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable address was supplied, the customer will be responsible for any additional delivery or return charges incurred.

If the customer requests reshipment, additional shipping charges may apply.

Customer Cancellation After Dispatch

If an order is cancelled after it has been been dispatched, the customer may be responsible for any direct costs incurred in recovering the goods.

Where a customer refuses delivery, fails to accept delivery, fails to collect the parcel from a designated collection point, or otherwise causes the parcel to be returned, HD Chemicals LTD reserves the right to deduct any carrier return charges and associated costs from any refund due where permitted by applicable law.

Customers exercising their statutory right to cancel after dispatch should accept delivery and return the goods in accordance with this policy. Refusing delivery may result in additional carrier charges which may be deducted from the refund.

Refunds

Once your returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you by email that we have received your return.

We will also notify you whether your refund has been approved or rejected.

If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within a reasonable period of time.

Refunds may be reduced where:

• The item shows signs of use;
• The item has been damaged after delivery;
• Parts, packaging, accessories, labels, or documentation are missing;
• The value of the goods has been diminished through handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and function;
• Carrier return charges have been incurred due to customer action;
• Additional costs have been incurred due to incorrect delivery information provided by the customer.

Any deductions will be limited to the actual costs incurred by HD Chemicals LTD.

Late or Missing Refunds

If you have not received your refund:

1. Check your bank account again.
2. Contact your credit card provider, payment provider, or bank.
3. Allow sufficient time for the refund to be processed and posted.

Sale, Promotional and Clearance Items

Sale, clearance, discounted, promotional, and special-offer items may only be refunded where required by applicable consumer legislation.

Exchanges

We only replace items if they are defective, damaged during transit, or supplied incorrectly.

Shipping Costs

Customers are responsible for paying their own return shipping costs unless the item is faulty, damaged on arrival, or supplied incorrectly.

Original outbound shipping costs are non-refundable once an order has been dispatched.

Where a parcel is refused, not collected, returned due to customer action, or returned because of incorrect delivery information provided by the customer, any carrier return charges incurred by HD Chemicals LTD may be deducted from the refund where permitted by law.

If a refund is approved, the refund amount will be reduced by any applicable deductions outlined in this policy.

 

Refund Calculation Example

The following example is provided for illustration purposes only. Actual deductions will depend on the carrier charges and costs incurred for the specific order.

Example order:

Product cost: £69.99
Original shipping charge: £9.99
Total paid by customer: £79.98
Carrier return charge incurred by HD Chemicals LTD: £14.99

If the parcel is refused, not collected, returned due to an incorrect address, or cancelled after dispatch and returned to us, the refund may be calculated as follows:

Product cost: £69.99
Less carrier return charge: -£14.99

Estimated refund payable: £55.00

Original shipping charges are non-refundable once an order has been dispatched.

If a chemical product has been opened, used, contaminated, repackaged, or removed from its original sealed packaging, no refund may be payable due to safety, quality-control, regulatory, and traceability requirements.
