SODIUM BICARBONATE

100% Food Grade

Molecular formula: NaHCO3

Sodium Bicarbonate also known as Bicarbonate of Soda or Baking Soda is a great and versatile product for your everyday household needs. Baking Soda is perfect for cooking and cleaning around the house.

USES:

Kitchen - In cooking, baking soda is primarily used in baking as a leavening agent. Sodium Bicarbonate is also used for leavening baked goods that contain acidic ingredients. The acid reacts with the Sodium Bicarbonate releasing bubbles of carbon dioxide. You will always see baking soda in recipes that also include some sort of acidic ingredient, such as vinegar, yogurt, or buttermilk.

Cleaning - Sodium Bicarb can be used as an amazing multi-purpose cleaning agent, to deal with all manner of tasks. Mildew Removal, Stain Removal, refreshing a fridge, deep-cleans on pots and pans, deodorising upholstery, mattress refresh as well as deep clean.

Bath Bombs - key ingredient for making bath bombs. The chemical reaction between water, sodium bicarbonate and the citric acid produces the fizz and bubbles when a finished bath bomb hits the water.

Pest control - Sodium bicarbonate can be an effective way of controlling fungal growth.

Alkalinity/pH increase - Sodium bicarbonate can be administered to pools, spas, and garden ponds to raise the total alkalinity. This will also raise the pH level and make maintaining proper pH easier.

Pyrotechnics - Sodium bicarbonate is one of the main components of the common fireworks.

Mild disinfectant - It has weak disinfectant properties and it may be an effective fungicide against some organisms.

Fire extinguisher - Sodium bicarbonate can be used to extinguish small grease or electrical fires by being thrown over the fire, as heating of sodium bicarbonate releases carbon dioxide.
