Granular Indicating Silica Gel Desiccant Orange 0.5–1 mm – Reusable Moisture Absorber 1 kg–4 kg

Product Overview

Reusable orange indicating silica gel granules designed to absorb excess moisture and help protect stored goods from damp, condensation, mould and corrosion. The dark orange granules change to dark green when saturated, providing a clear visual indication. Available in 1 kg, 2 kg, 3 kg and 4 kg quantities.

Key Features

  • Colour-indicating granules: Changes from dark orange to dark green when saturated with moisture.
  • Reusable desiccant: Can be dried, reactivated and used repeatedly.
  • Fine granular form: Consistent 0.5–1 mm grain size for efficient moisture absorption.
  • Convenient packaging: Supplied in separate 1 kg multibags to help maintain product quality.
  • Multiple applications: Suitable for storage boxes, workshops, garages, equipment cases and industrial packaging.

Uses

1. Protecting Tools and Metal Components

  1. Place 50–200 g of silica gel inside a breathable desiccant bag or open container.
  2. Position it inside the toolbox, cabinet or sealed storage box.
  3. Keep the granules away from direct contact with delicate surfaces.
  4. Check the indicator colour regularly.
  5. Reactivate the silica gel when it changes from dark orange to dark green.

2. Reducing Moisture in Storage Boxes

  1. Add approximately 100–250 g of silica gel per medium-sized sealed storage box.
  2. Place the granules in a breathable sachet or secure ventilated container.
  3. Close the storage box tightly.
  4. Inspect the silica gel periodically for colour changes.
  5. Dry and reuse the granules once they become dark green.

3. Protecting Electrical and Electronic Equipment

  1. Disconnect and fully dry the equipment before storage.
  2. Place 50–150 g of silica gel inside the equipment case or sealed container.
  3. Do not allow loose granules to enter electrical components, sockets or ventilation openings.
  4. Seal the container securely.
  5. Replace or reactivate the silica gel when saturated.

4. Moisture Control in Packaging and Shipping

  1. Select the required quantity based on the package size and expected moisture exposure.
  2. Place 10–100 g of silica gel inside a breathable desiccant bag.
  3. Position the bag beside the product without covering labels or ventilation points.
  4. Seal the outer packaging as tightly as possible.
  5. Check the indicator after storage or transport and reactivate when required.

5. Protecting Collectables, Documents and Photographic Equipment

  1. Place the items inside a clean, dry and sealed storage container.
  2. Add 20–100 g of silica gel in a breathable sachet or ventilated holder.
  3. Avoid direct contact between loose granules and photographs, documents or collectable surfaces.
  4. Check the colour regularly to monitor moisture saturation.
  5. Reactivate the silica gel when it turns dark green.

How to Reactivate the Silica Gel

Oven Method

  1. Remove the silica gel from all plastic packaging and sachets.
  2. Spread the granules evenly over a clean oven tray reserved for non-food use only.
  3. Heat in a ventilated oven at 100–120°C.
  4. Dry for approximately 2 hours.
  5. Allow the granules to cool completely before handling or returning them to storage containers.

Microwave Method

  1. Place the loose granules in a suitable microwave-safe container reserved for non-food use.
  2. Set the microwave to the defrost or low-power setting.
  3. Heat in short intervals for a total of approximately 10–15 minutes.
  4. Check and carefully stir the granules between intervals to prevent overheating.
  5. Allow them to cool fully before reuse.

Safety: The granules and container may become very hot during reactivation. Use suitable heat-resistant gloves. Do not overheat, ingest or allow contact with food. Keep away from children and pets. Ensure the granules are completely cool before sealing them inside packaging.
