POTASSIUM SULPHATE

Available in 200g, 400g.

Molecular formula: K2SO4

Potassium Sulphate is an inorganic chemical compound consisting of the salts of sulphuric acid and potassium. Also called potassium sulphate, it is the most popular low-chlorine fertilizer. It combines the most important nutrients, such as potassium and sulphur, easily available and digestible for plants. The best source of nutrients for chloride-sensitive plants and for intensive cultivation systems (aquariums, greenhouses, foil tunnels).

Potassium sulphate has a fairly low salinity index, therefore it is the preferred potassium fertilizer in areas sensitive to soil salinity. Kraft fertilizers are environmentally friendly and the most effective.

Symptoms of potassium deficiency are first visible on older leaves. Plants take it in the form of K + ions, the most frequently recommended and used source is potassium sulphate (K2SO4). Usually doses from a few to a dozen or so ppm / week is used. In plant aquariums where this element is not fed, there is a high probability of a deficiency. Water from the mains is sterilized and usually contains too little potassium in relation to the needs of the plants.

Sample proportions of fertilizing an aquarium:

  • aquarium capacity - 100 liters net
  • volume of the prepared solution - 500 ml
  • amount of K2SO4 - 35g

Concentration in the aquarium after adding 1 ml of the solution:

  • K - 0.314 mg / l
  • SO4 - 0.129 mg / l
