Mica Flakes SET of 8 Colours
SET OF 8 MICA FLAKES
(Each colour contains 3 grams)
All the flakes are approx 1-3mm in size.
Colored mica is obtained by adding and mixing dyes in the process of obtaining natural flakes at high temperatures. The dyes permanently penetrate the structure of the mica flakes, and the screening process to separate the flake fractions according to the flake size removes the pigment that does not penetrate the mica.
There are 2 types of Mica Flakes:
Synthetic mica is produced artificially. Its properties are better than natural mica. The resistance of synthetic mica to high temperatures and corrosion as well as light transmittance are incomparably better than other types of mica.
It can be dyed in various colors, which will increase its decorative properties. Most dyes are not resistant to temperatures above 150-200 ℃. Only white and gold mica can withstand temperatures up to 750 ℃ and for this reason synthetic mica in the form of white and gold flakes is used to decorate glass, ceramics, etc.
