Popular Uses & How to Use Safely:

  1. Liquid Soap Making
    Wear gloves, goggles and protective clothing. Slowly add measured KOH flakes to cold water, never water to KOH. Mix in a heat-safe container, allow to cool, then combine with oils according to your soap formula.
  2. pH Adjustment
    Prepare a diluted solution by adding small amounts of KOH to water. Add gradually to the liquid being treated while checking pH. Use only grams or millilitres as required by your formulation.
  3. Acid Neutralisation
    Use in controlled industrial processes only. Add diluted potassium hydroxide solution slowly to acidic material while stirring and monitoring pH. Avoid splashing and overheating.
  4. Fertiliser Formulation
    Use as a potassium source in liquid fertiliser production. Dissolve carefully in water before blending with compatible ingredients. Follow professional formulation rates in grams per litre.
  5. Potassium Salt Production
    React KOH with suitable acids under controlled conditions to produce potassium-based compounds such as phosphates or carbonates. Use proper ventilation and chemical-resistant equipment.
